Windows 10 migration project overview
The majority of staff in the Division of Student Affairs, the Graduate Division, and Arts & Lectures are using Windows 7 machines for work. SIS&T and Microsoft are prepared to support Windows 7 machines until 2020, but with that date in mind and the fact that newer machines come with hardware that is incompatible with Windows 7, SIS&T is beginning a phased rollout of Windows 10 machines. The rollout begins in Winter quarter 2019 and is expected to continue through January 2020.
Windows 10 training resources
SIS&T is developing some customized training resources for staff, but in the meantime, consider getting up to speed on Windows 10 with this Essential Training course packet (8 hours), from Lynda.com. For help logging into Lynda.com with your UCSB NetID, visit https://www.it.ucsb.edu/lyndacom.
